[Abstract]

We aim to build mechanism to enable value creation in the society by investigating interaction among the system of artifacts, social structure of people, and life cycle of artifacts including design, manufacturing, and use. We explore the system of arifacts as an origin of the system of value. We also investigate creation of network and community in order to create value in network.

Research Projects

Development of artifact ontologies (H. Takeda)

In order to systemize artifacts existing in our society, we build ontologies for artifacts. By comparing ontologies from various domains, we explore the system of value in our society.

Development and analysis of communication network (H. Takeda)

We explore the principle of forming social network by analyzing networksfrom communication on the Internet. From the analysis, we explore value creation in the network.

High value added manufacturing systems (N. Fujii, former associate professor)

A new autonomous distributed manufacturing system is developed, which can adapt to the dynamic fluctuation in the recent complex manufacturing environment in order to produce high value added products.
